"Offshore outsourcing" is first on our menu list because it's the first business we did. It is no longer our main business, but we continue to engage in carefully selected globalization projects, and this remains our longterm business theme. This is why our company's name is Export Quality Services Co., Ltd.

"Offshore outsourcing" means using staff in one country (e.g., Thailand) to perform services for a company in another country (e.g., the USA) connected by internet. "Offshore" is slang to mean in another country overseas. For example, a company in the U.S. can have a branch in Thailand which does its website design, updates, and customer support, to cite the best known example.

When the founder of EQ, Mark Prado, owned an information technology company in the Washington, D.C., region from 1987-1994, he often outsourced programming tasks overseas. Some time after he arrived in Thailand in 1994, he switched from "the demand side" to "the supply side".

Offshore outsourcing is not limited to just information technology. When the 1997 Asia economic collapse occurred, the hardest hit sector was the property sector. Mr. Prado helped some engineering design and architecture companies to survive by providing their design services to companies in the U.S. and Australia.

As regards old demand simply for websites, particularly the artwork and programming, this subsector of offshore outsourcing now has an oversupply of service providers, and prices have crashed. Nevertheless, public relations is very important, and companies and people who realize this will use the best company in the world, not limit their consideration to just the geographical locals, if the scope of their operations goes beyond the local (and sometimes if it's still just local but they want to consider the best designers globally).

Offshore outsourcing can potentially cover a wide range of fields and businesses (way beyond web design and P.R.).
